Climategames is proud to host the 2026 EcoAthletes Collegiate Cup Powered by Protect We Play
The fourth annual EcoAthletes Collegiate Cup competition launches on Climategames this March.
This competition unites athletes to convert their exercise into climate impact to help fund coastal clean ups.
How the Collegiate Cup works
You can join the Collegiate Cup from anywhere in the world by signing up for the team of your choice, no collegiate or national affiliation is required.
EcoAthletes student-athlete Champions on 46 campuses motivate their teams to log their running, walking, swimming, cycling, rowing, and gym workouts from March 9 to April 22, Earth Day.
This year, Captains on campuses from across the USA and Canada will inspire their teams to dig deep to win the 2026 EcoAthletes Collegiate Cup.
The team that exercises the most on aggregate during those six weeks wins.
The project: International Coastal Cleanup® (ICC)
The ICC began more than 35 years ago, when communities rallied together with the common goal of collecting and documenting the trash littering their coastline.
In partnership with volunteer organizations and individuals around the globe, the ICC engages people to remove trash from the world’s beaches and waterways.
Since its beginnings in 1986, more than 19 million volunteers have collected more than 400 million pounds of trash.

The movement has created a network that works together for something bigger than us.
The ICC is part of "Protect Where We Play", the title sponsor of the 2026 Collegiate Cup. It's an Ocean Conservancy initiative to turn our passion for sports, art and music into action for our ocean, so we can keep on playing for generations to come.
