What's been happening at Climategames this Earth month
It's been a busy Earth month at Climategames with tons of epic climate action happening.
Here are some of our highlights:

EcoAthletes planted 3,000 corals 🪸
This year, EcoAthletes Champions at 29 schools drove the six-week competition by recruiting “Cuppers” to their team in the Climategames app. Then their exercise was converted into an environmental currency, funded by the partners Protect Where We Play and Earth Day Network, that supported vital coral restoration by the Coral Gardeners. The final tallies were impressive:
- 579 Cuppers
-7,721 hours of exercise with a total distance of 43,523 km or 27,044 miles
- Restoration of 3,000 corals in the South Pacific!
Here are the results of the competion
🥇 1st place Cornell was led by junior basketballer and founder of Cornell Student-Athletes for Sustainability (CSAS) Emily Pape ( ‘26)
🥈 2nd place joint team NC State & Long Beach State, earned hours and 600 corals thanks to MVC Waite; EcoAthletes Champion golfers Inja Fric (NC State) and Hannah Jugar (LBSU); and NC State runner Jenna Schulz.
🥉 3rd place Rutgers University restored 300 corals, with lacrosse player Kelsey Klein and swimmer Natalie Schick taking charge.
What a great achievement - congratulations to EcoAthletes and everyone involved.

NCC Group kicked off their World Tour
The NCC Group launched off an epic challenge this month which supports kelp restoration by moving around the world!
Between 22nd April and 31st July 2025, the company aims to achieve a minimum distance of 45,000km which equates to one rotation of the globe.
Employees can run, cycle, swim, walk and row which will all count for the overall total and go towards making that awesome climate impact possible.
The team have 3 months to hit 45,000km and we can't wait to see how they get on.
eBay UK launched a 'go the distance' competition
Engaging all its UK employees, eBay aims to cover the distance between eBay Richmond and eBay New York in just 8 days, to remove 8,500 plastic bottles from the ocean. This means covering 5568.5km.
Finishing on April 30th, all will be revealed as to which office teams covered the most distance.
To date employees have covered over 200km and there is still plenty of time to go.
It's a great challenge with incredible climate impact, go team eBay!
