Active Lancashire is the strategic lead for Sport and Physical Activity and believes that everyone in Lancashire deserves the chance to live an active, healthy life.
"Movement is powerful - it improves wellbeing, strengthens communities, reduces inequality, and builds a brighter future for all."
In February Active Lancashire will start a new step challenge on Climategames called 'Step into Nature' as part of its ethos to improve employee wellbeing.
About the challenge
As a team, the challenge is to collectively complete 10 million steps throughout February while unlocking funding for tree planting or wildflower meadow creation with the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT).
Called 'Step into Nature', it is a month‑long movement challenge that turns everyday activity into real‑world environmental impact. Every step contributes to restoring habitats across the Yorkshire Dales/Trough of Bowland.
Team Target: Active Lancashire staff aim to reach 10,000,000 steps by 28th February.
Weekly Milestones:
- Week 1: 2.5 million steps
- Week 2: 5 million steps
- Week 3: 7.5 million steps
- Week 4: 10 million steps
Each milestone reached triggers a donation to YDMT to plant trees or sow wildflower.
