Funding nature through exercise
Nature-based solutions harness natural processes and ecosystems to address challenges such as climate change, environmental degradation, and biodiversity loss.
It is estimated that nature-based solutions could contribute between 20%-40%* of the mitigation needed between now and 2050 to keep global warming below 2°C.
The UN Race to Zero campaign and the Science Based Targets Initiative, define a businesses pathway to net zero as including:
- Hitting science aligned targets through the decarbonisation of business operations and supply chain.
- Neutralising residual emissions through carbon capture and permanent storage
- Investing in ‘Beyond Value Chain Mitigation’ to fund restorative nature based projects, without which, we will not meet global net zero goals.
